ENGLISH Teacher FULL-TIME

For Elementary Progressive School 1 in Sofia, district Strelbishte, we are hiring an English teacher for the 2024/25 school year to teach 5-7th grades on full-time contract.

Our English teacher:

• Sets clear, coherent goals related to the learning content, providing the process for achieving them;
• Plans didactic and experiential activities that stimulate the research process among the students in the realization of the educational activity;
• Selects, differentiates and integrates appropriate methods;
• Teaches English, incorporating educational perspectives that stimulate and deepen interdisciplinary learning;
• Develops and nurtures classroom culture and student relationships;
• Participates in team meetings for program planning and reflection;
• Conducts diagnostic assessment at the beginning and end of the school year;
• Participates in professional development and self-care programs.

You should meet the following requirements:

• Higher education, preferably "English Philology"/"Applied Linguistics with English Language";
• A minimum of two years of experience in teaching English to students age 12-16 in formal, non-formal or inclusive education;
• Excellent command of written and spoken English - level C1;
• Computer and media literacy;
• Knowledge of different forms and methods of student assessment;
• Experience with IB programmes is an advantage; 
• Positive attitude, openness and desire for professional development;
• Adaptability to a dynamic environment and teamwork.
