The traditional Interdisciplinary PhD Forum will be performed with international participation for a second time, due to the valuable impact and great feedback of the event, organized in 2023!

PhD students from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Bulgarian and foreign Universities or scientific organizations are kindly invited to take part in the event – to present their scientific studies and to network with young colleagues and experienced researchers from different research areas and countries.

The interdisciplinary thinking and collaboration will be stimulated also by motivating group entrepreneurship activities, related to the implementation of creative scientific ideas into business practice.

Information for participants

PhD students from all research areas, stage and form of PhD studies can participate in the forum, with oral or poster presentations. The duration of the oral presentation must be up to 10 minutes. The size of the posters should be no larger than 70/100 cm.

The PhD students may participate with only one oral or poster presentation.

The applications will be considered by a Selection Panel for shortlisting. You will be notified via email if you are shortlisted.

20 credits will be awarded to all PhD students for their overall attendance at the event not only on the day of the presentation.

All presentations will be evaluated by a scientific jury. The most accomplished presentations will be awarded.

The official language of the forum is English. All presentations should be in English, except for the presentations of PhD students in the scientific area of Bulgarian Language/Studies.

Participation fee:

PhD students from the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences – 80 BGN.

PhD students from Bulgarian Universities or scientific organizations – 140 BGN.

PhD students from foreign Universities or scientific organizations – 100 EUR.

The participation fee includes an abstract booklet, certificate for participation, badge, conference materials, and coffee breaks.

The participation fee (in BGN or EUR) must be transferred to the bank account of the Training center of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, as follows:

In the paragraph “Purpose of Payment” („Основание за плащане”), please, indicate: Participation fee PhD Forum and the name of the participant (Такса правоучастие Докторантски форум и името на участника).

Invoices will be sent by email to participants after receiving the participation fee.

Important: It will not be possible to pay the participation fee in cash during the forum.

Accommodation:

The Training center – BAS provides free 3 nights (16, 17 and 18 April 2024) full board accommodation (FB) at Park Hotel Kyustendil ****, Kyustendil, Bulgaria (191 Kalosiya Street, Kyustendil 2500) https://parkhotelkyustendil.com/.

The accommodation is organized in double rooms and PhD students can indicate their roommate preference in the online Registration form.

The accommodation will start on 16 April after 2.00 PM, when the official registration will take place.

The check-out will be on 19 April until 12.00 PM.

Important: The organizing committee will not be responsible for another accommodation type.

Participants are responsible for organizing and paying their travel costs to the venue of the forum.

Important: If you withdraw your participation after 31 March 2024, your participation fee will not be refunded.

8 March 2024 – Payment of participation fee

1 April 2024 – Sending the final version of the PowerPoint presentation (in English*) for the forum (only for participants with oral presentation) to phdforumbas@gmail.com

* Important: Тhe participants in the special panel "Development and Establishing of Bulgarian Studies Abroad” must send their presentations in Bulgarian with topics related to Bulgarian studies.
