Your team
You will be part of a team of designers working in the Web and Digital Division in the Directorate General Communications. Our Division is responsible for the ECB's digital communications, including website development, design and content; digital content creation; social-media channel management; publications; visual communications including photo, video, design, and branding; and digital impact analysis.
You will be part of a team responsible for producing graphic and motion graphics design solutions for a number of platforms (for example websites and social media channels). You will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking talented, creative and innovative individuals to help us reach the Division's goals.

Your role
Your tasks as a trainee in the design team will include:
- supporting the team with its daily tasks by preparing various types of visual material for all ECB digital platforms (e.g. social media, websites, etc.);
- developing branding solutions for various ECB initiatives by exploring and implementing the latest trends in graphic and motion graphics design, based on the ECB visual style guides;
- providing innovative and creative proposals that will improve the ECB's visual communication;
- helping to implement and further improve the ECB's video branding by working on motion graphics videos.
- working with digital content experts to create innovative visual content for digital channels, including videos and infographics.

Qualifications, experience and skills
Essential:
- a bachelor's degree or higher in the field of graphic design, visual arts, motion graphics or similar. Other fields will also be considered if combined with strong relevant qualifications;
- creative flair and artistic sensibility, evidenced by a portfolio showcasing your best graphic and/or motion graphics design work;
- experience in graphic and motion graphics design, and a basic knowledge of User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design;
- a good understanding of the mission, tasks and responsibilities of the ECB, and the ability to describe these in clear and simple terms;
- a good knowledge of the MS Office package;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages [2].
Desired:
- knowledge of graphic and motion graphics design tools and workflows (e.g. Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects and other Adobe software);
- a basic understanding of digital media and digital communications strategy;
- experience of working or studying in an international environment.

All candidates should:
- be a national of a Member State of the EU or of an acceding country;
- be at least 18 years old;
- have completed at least a first cycle qualification (minimum bachelor's degree);
- be fluent in English and in another official language of the EU.
Following their most recent qualification candidates should:
- have a maximum of 12 months' professional experience;
- have been a trainee for no more than six months;
- not have been an ECB trainee or have worked for the ECB previously.
